Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington is a Greek American author syndicated columnist as well as a businessperson. She is co-founder of The Huffington Post the founder and CEO of Thrive Global and the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington has been an actor, journalist, television philanthropist and author for more than 10 years. She is also the owner of The Huffington Post, an independent, liberal online newsmagazine. Originating from Greece Arianna Huffington immigrated to England with her family at the age of 16. While at Cambridge University she earned a MA degree in Economics. The first graduate from outside the UK to be elected president of The Cambridge Union at the age 21. The years that followed after her college graduation, she was an important conservative journalist who was syndicated. Then, a couple of years later, she founded The Huffington Post which featured criticism of the present political landscape. It was possible for her to recruit several notable contributors to post their opinions on culture and politics. Arianna was famous when she decided in 2003 to candidly run as an independent candidate for the California Recall Election in order to replace Governor Davis. Additionally, she led an Detroit initiative to encourage vehicles that are fuel efficient. Forbes named her as the 12th most influential woman on the planet in 2009 and Guardian also ranked her on the Top 100 List of Media in that same year. AOL Inc. acquired The Huffington Post, and the post was made president by the media company. It included a variety of AOL brands at the time such as Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. She was the daughter of journalist and management consultant Konstantinos and his wife Elli Stasinopoulos. While she was closely associated with her father, it was her relationship with her mother, which formed her character. Even during her formative time, she showed abilities to lead, and for this her name is still well-known. When she was 16 she moved to United Kingdom to pursue her studies and enrolled in Girton College Cambridge. She joined The Cambridge Union college debate society while in college in which she became the 3rd and only female to be elected the president. In 1972she received the degree of Master in Economics. She worked as a critic television host, as well as a columnist following her graduation. She also appeared in the show Face the music along with Bernard Levin and began writing books with editorial assistance from Bernard Levin.
